FIND YOUR FATHER’S DAY GIFT FASTER
Let’s face it: Shopping for our Dads is no easy task. There are a number of contributing factors, too. For starters, there is simply more available to the female consumer world than there is to their male counterparts. But, what make it worse is that our Dads typically don’t give off any clues as to what they want or need anyway. So, there’s already less out there for us to buy for them and yet you don’t do us any help in further isolating that search. It’s not an uncommon problem and we’re here to help.
DADS DON’T LIKE MALLS
Typically speaking, when have you ever heard your Dad (or anyone’s) suggest a casual trip to the mall or be enthusiastic about one they have to make? Exactly. So, why not utilize that feedback and begin the search elsewhere to begin with. Don’t go to a mall to peruse; don’t walk along the downtown strip window shopping. It’s not what they would do. When they do have to shop, they know what they want – they know where they’re going and they know how to find it. Really want to impress Dad? Do the same and do it even more efficiently. Shop online, instead. Make Dad proud.
WHAT TO BUY
For some inspiration, whether you want something just like this or decide it’s definitely not even close, here’s a quick list of our thoughts on the most common gifts that are bought for Dads year after year:
- Ties – everyone needs a good one now and then
- Car accessories – make his favourite toy even better
- Sporting goods – there’s always time to play
- Tools – can’t fix it, if you don’t have the right ones
- BBQ equipment – the best thing to do to bring the family together
WHERE TO BUY IT
The beauty of online shopping is that you won’t find a shortage of retailers. Not sure where to look for Dad’s gift? Just start searching – you’ll end up somewhere that will help you answer that question. Regardless if you start at a store you know or end up somewhere you’ve never heard of, the beauty of online shopping is that you can be in both places at the same time. Being a savvy consumer has never been easier – there’s no longer an excuse for not properly comparing and finding the best price for that perfect purchase. Some of our suggestions for where to start the search:
- Amazon – you name it, they have it
- DICK’S Sporting Goods – sporting gear he’ll actually want to play with
- Kohl’s – shirts, ties, and anything else he’d love to wear
- Tire Rack – get him a set and make everything new again
- Barne’s & Noble – books for anything and everything
WORRIED YOU WON’T GET IT IN TIME?
If you are even a little concerned that attempting to use our service at this point, with Father’s Day next weekend (you’re welcome for the reminder), you don’t need to be. A tried, tested, and true strategy to alleviate the worry is simple: Take a picture, include it in the card, and let Dad know it’s on the way. If you really want to keep things interesting, don’t even provide the picture – just tell Dad he’ll get his gift soon. Not only will he believe you, knowing that you aren’t just buying yourself more time to go to the mall and find him a gift, but he’ll appreciate the creative touch while you give him something to anticipate. Overall, not a bad solution (we’ve done it – it works).
That said, if you really do want to get it in time you should consider an. Your retailer will get the package to us sooner, which means we can then get it to you sooner.
SOME OF THE STORES OUR CUSTOMERS LIKE MOST
We have already helped a lot of Canadian consumers, just like you, and not just by helping get them better deals from stores they can already access in Canada or online. To put into perspective how we can help you avoid the travel, costs, and energy it takes to enjoy cross border shopping at the stores you simply can’t access because of where you live, here is a list of some of the most commonly shopped at online stores by our customers:
DON’T MAKE IT MORE OF A CHORE THAN YOU NEED TO
The best advice we can provide when it comes to more effective and efficient shopping of any kind, is to do so online. Of course we’re going to reinforce the same strategy when it comes to shopping for Dads – they already make it hard enough to find whatever is that we don’t even know we’re looking for when it comes to gifts for them, so deciding to drag our feet around a mall aimlessly while we attempt the near impossible certainly won’t help the efforts. Stop making it harder than it already is. Make it as easy as it can be. Start online – be done sooner.
HOW DOES CROSS BORDER PICKUPS WORK?
We provide you with a free USA shipping address, which is what you use when shopping online. That is your CBP address, which is located at our USA shipping facility – it’s not a PO Box. This is where the packages are sent after you proceed with your retailer of choice and choose whichever shipping option you select with them. Once we receive the package, we notify you and your CBP profile is updated to show you the current status of your package(s). You can then let more arrive before we transport them into Canada on your behalf or send them individually (there are different rates to consider for each option). Then, when in the country, you can pick them up from our Mississauga, Ontario facility or we can ship across Canada directly to your home.
For the pickup option, you would leave your profile exactly as it is after signing up – all packages will be sent to our Mississauga location by default when you direct us to transport them. You can pay for our service upon pickup, if using this option.
For the direct mailing option, you’ll need to edit your CBP profile so that your address is changed to the address you want us to ship your items to. Then, after directing us to transport your packages, we will send them to that specified address. You will be prompted to pay for our service prior to transporting, if using this option.
Any applicable duties/taxes will apply – we pay them on your behalf and you then reimburse us (added to our service fee, so you only have to pay a single transaction). You can find our rates here: www.crossborderpickups.ca/rates/.
For a detailed breakdown of a potential purchase, you can email us the purchase details and whether you plan to pick it up or have us mail it to you: firstname.lastname@example.org.
