CrossBorder Pickups always tries to ensure your packages are sent and received across the border with minimal delays or interruptions. Recently, we have noticed an increase in the number of FBA shipments being scrutinized by customs under section 321. In order to verify the value of the items in question, customs will look up the item on Amazon. The problem is, there may be many different listings for the same product. This can result in the customs agent picking a listing that does not match the seller’s value and assuming that they are under-declaring the item.
To maintain transparency, accuracy, and efficiency and in order to avoid any issues with getting your items to their final destination, we ask that all Canadian FBA sellers provide a packing slip for all shipments valued over $500 USD. The packing slip must include the shipper’s information (sender/seller), the recipient’s information and address, a list of all items included in the package, the quantity of each item, the value of each item listed, the ASIN or link to that listing, and the total value of the shipment. The packing slip must be affixed to a conspicuous place on the exterior of the parcel so that it is easily accessible.
All declarations must be truthful and accurate. False or inaccurate information may lead to a minimum of $300 fine and suspension of service.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask one of our retail representatives. CrossBorder Pickups is proud to be your trusted partner for all your shipping needs.
